Who we are

Paris Escandón is an award-winning photographer, motion graphics designer, and 3D printing specialist. Despite being legally blind, he has directed television shows, founded production companies, won international animation competitions, and launched Dusk till Dawn Studio. His lived experience with disability and deep expertise in accessible technology shape CTW’s commitment to making creativity and technology available to everyone.

Solange Courteau is a Canadian Armed Forces officer, community organizer, and co-founder of Creative Technology Workshop. After a career in the federal public service specializing in official languages, equity, diversity and inclusion, she chose to focus her work on military service and building community projects in Brockville. She leads CTW’s strategic development, partnerships, governance and community engagement, bringing together her experience in public service, organizational leadership and community-building.

Together, Paris and Solange founded Creative Technology Workshop to address a practical problem: skilled people need access to the tools and infrastructure required to turn their expertise into viable work.

CTW is being developed as an accessible, shared production facility where independent professionals, tradespeople, designers, fabricators, artists and entrepreneurs can access professional equipment and workspace that would otherwise require substantial individual investment. From 3D printing and digital fabrication to woodworking, welding and other forms of production, CTW is intended to help people develop prototypes, undertake professional projects, launch or grow small businesses, and put their skills to productive use.

Accessibility is fundamental to that mission. Talent and expertise are widely distributed; access to employment, capital, equipment and appropriate workplaces is not. CTW aims to lower those barriers without lowering expectations of what people are capable of creating, building and contributing.
